The Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) functioning under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry of Government of India has called for applications from eligible candidates for the Bachelor of Design and Master of Design Courses.
Admission procedure for Indian applicants:
Candidates meeting the eligibility requirement stated by the institute will have to take up the All India Selection Test, shortly called as AIST. This is a computer-based Multiple Choice Test. This test is planned to be conducted from the 12th to 14th of June 2016 in different centres. Of these three dates, candidates can choose any of their convenient date and the test will be conducted in 37 different cities in India on these dates.
Examination centre preference:
The applicants should select 4 choices of examination centers in which they prefer to take the test in the application form as the institute will allocate the centre as per the availability. There will not be any provision for change of exam centre or date of exam. The allotment of date and examination centre will be made on first come first serve basis. During this allotment process, preference will be given on the basis of the list of four centres chosen by candidates on their application form.
Admit card with the address of the exam centre and dates will be sent to the applicants on the 4th week of May 2016. Candidates, who do not get the admit card before the 1st of June 2016 are recommended to get in touch with the admission committee for clarification or they can also download the same from the website of the institute. The test will be conducted both in English and in Hindi medium. The merit list of the examination will be published on the last week of June 2016.
Procedure for admission through counseling:
Candidates succeeding in the entrance test will be called for counseling in the order of the rank secured in the entrance test. Admission will be strictly done on the basis of merit and the counseling and admission procedure will continue until the available seats are completely filled.
The duration of the entrance test conducted by the institute will be 2.5 hours and the question paper will have 150 objective type questions. Here is the pattern of test for M. Des and B. Des courses:
- Section A and B Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning and English respectively will have 45 questions each and the suggested time limit is 45 minutes for each of these sections.
- Section C and D General Awareness and Business Aptitude respectively will have 30 questions each and the suggested time limit is 30 minutes for each of these sections.
- Section A and C Mathematics and English respectively will have 45 questions each and the suggested time limit is 45 minutes for each of these sections.
- Section B and D General Science and General Awareness respectively will have 30 questions each and the suggested time limit is 30 minutes for each of these sections.
Each of the questions will carry one mark each and there will not be any negative marking for wrong answers.
