Hindustan University, which began its operations as Hindustan College of Engineering in the year 1985 earned the University status from the academic year 2016 under the name Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science. This university has called for applications from eligible candidates for the HITSEEE 2016 examination for admission to the B. Tech course offered in different branches and B. Arch course. This entrance test is expanded as Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science Engineering Entrance Exam. Candidates interested in B. Tech/B. Arch course from this institution operating from the state of Tamil Nadu will have to clear this entrance test.
B. Tech: Candidates planning to apply for the first semester of this 8-semester course, which is offered in 36 different branches, must have completed their higher secondary examination prescribed by the Tamil Nadu Government with chemistry, physics, mathematics or equivalent qualification.

B. Tech: Candidates planning to apply for the first semester of this 8-semester course, which is offered in 36 different branches, must have completed their higher secondary examination prescribed by the Tamil Nadu Government with chemistry, physics, mathematics or equivalent qualification. Not only first-time attempt, candidates taking improvement examination can apply with their improvement score. In the qualifying higher secondary examination, the applicants must have secured an average of 50% of marks in chemistry, mathematics and physics together. This is applicable for all other branches, while for those applying for B. Tech Biotechnology they must have secured this average in physics, chemistry, mathematics or biology.
B. Arch: For this course, the applicants must have completed their higher secondary with an aggregate of 50% of marks or its equivalent with mathematics/Business mathematics as one of the subjects. Even candidates with a 3-year diploma in 10+3 format recognized by the central/state government with mathematics as the subject with an aggregate of 50% of marks are eligible to apply for B. Arch course. B. Arch applicants must take up the National Aptitude Test for Architecture conducted by the Council of Architecture and must score not less than 80 out of 200 in this test. Upper age limit to apply is 19 years on the 30th of April 2016.
This test will be conducted in 22 centers out of which 20 are located in different states across India and 2 are located in Chennai. The test duration will be 2 hours and there will be 120 questions in total with four choices to answer.
Candidates will have to submit the application before the 15th of April 2016 and the entrance test will be conducted on the 25th and 26th of April 2016. When this date is applicable for other centers, for Chennai centers, the test dates will be from 25th of April to 2nd of May 2016. The counseling for admission will be on from 25th May to 12th June 2016. The classes will commence from the 8th of July 2016.
Candidates can get the application by paying Rs.1000 in cash or in the form of DD drawn in favor of Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science, Chennai from the head office, university campus, Kochi office, Calicut office and Delhi office of the university.
