RTU ready to launch BTech Course on space engineering

Have you ever dreamt of being a space scientist? Rajasthan Technical University has planned to make your dreams come true. Yes RTU is ready to launch a course in Space Engineering. This undergraduate B.Tech course will start from next academic session.

Other courses which RTU is introducing include textile engineering, automobile engineering.

Have you ever dreamt of being a space scientist? Rajasthan Technical University has planned to make your dreams come true. Yes RTU is ready to launch a course in Space Engineering. This undergraduate B.Tech course will start from next academic session.

Rajasthan which did not have any programme related to space science in any of its institutions will now have selected institutions which will offer this course.

The Vice-chancellor of RTU , RP Yadav says that this programme will bring forth many professionals who will meet the needs of space programmes in the country. He also said that the curriculum for this course will be from Mechanical, Electrical and Communication, and Computer Science, the four core engineering branches and it will be taught by technical assistance from Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) . Mr. Yadav also said he has plans of having short term courses too in space application.

To enhance the students with specialized training, RTU with the help of ISRO regional centre in Jodhpur is setting up a new Space Application Centre. The university also has plans for asking ISRO to have space science related research activities and also development activities in the university itself.

With the 2.5 billion oil reserves that have beed discovered in Western Rajasthan, RTU is also introducing a BE course on petroleum engineering. This course will include horizontal drilling and enhanced oil recovery besides modules on computer modelling, application of statistics, and probability analysis in estimating oil reserves.

Other courses which RTU is introducing include textile engineering, automobile engineering. These courses being introduced by provide a golden opportunity for the students.

These new ventures will bring out many professionals who will meet the needs of today’s industry demand and also revive the industries.
