The Tata Institute of Social Sciences announces admission to B.A. (Hons) in Social Work with Specialisation in Rural Development 2016. This job-oriented professional programme is offered by the School of Rural Development located at Tuljapur (near Solapur, Maharashtra).

Eligibility: 12th Standard (or equivalent) in any stream with minimum average of 50% marks (40% for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) and 45% for Kashmiri Migrants). Candidates awaiting results can also apply.

By sending a request letter to the Deputy Registrar, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, School of Rural Development, Tuljapur - 413 601 Dist: Osmanabad, Maharashtra OR Assistant Registrar, TISS, Deonar, Mumbai 400 088 along with a Demand Draft for Rs.550/-, drawn in favour of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Tuljapur payable at Tuljapur OR

By downloading from TISS website (www.tiss.edu) and submitting it with the processing fee of Rs. 500/- to be paid in cash at the Institute cash counter or by a Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, payable at Tuljapur; OR

From the cash counter at TISS, Mumbai or School of Rural Development, Tuljapur against cash payment of Rs.500/- from January 6 -February 24, 2016 by post and March 10 , 2016 in person.

Seat Reservations:
• 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and 27 % for OBC (Non Creamy Layer ) candidates. Free application forms will be provided to those SC and ST candidates who are unemployed and whose parents / guardian's annual income is Rs.1,00,000/- or below in the financial year 20162016. The candidates are required to submit an attested true copy of caste/tribe certificate by the competent authority of the Government and income certificate of their parents/guardians issued by a Village Revenue Officer / Tahsildar / the employer.
• 3% seats for Persons With Disability (PWD) of which 1% seats each are reserved for (a) low vision / blindness, (b) hearing impairment, and (c) loco-motor disability/cerebral palsy.
• 1% of seats are reserved for Kashmiri Migrants.

Last date for receipt of completed applications at TISS, Deonar, Mumbai 400 088 in person or by hand, by post is March 10, 2016, and for remote and far flung areas/regions and international students is March 20 , 2016. Admission Procedure: Those satisfying the eligibility requirements will be assessed for selection through a process involving two stages:
(1) Written Test, and
(2) Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Written Test Centres
The Written Test will be conducted on April 18, 2016, at Ahmedabad, Aurangabad (Mah), Bangaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Leh, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Portblair , Ranchi and Tuljapur.

Pre-admission coaching for SC, ST, OBC Non-Creamy Layer), Minority candidates will be organized on April 16 and 17, 2016, in the Tuljapur Campus of TISS. They can have their written test in Tuljapur Campus of TISS.

Short-listed candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview to be held on the Tuljapur Campus of TISS on June 9, 10 & 11 , 2016.

If a phase I test taker of Baksa oe other places is not satisfied his/her performance in the test or if a candidate has missed out to apply for NEET, he/she can apply for phase 2 exam, It is a second chance provided to aspiring candidates.
