NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE)

North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) Entrance Examination (NERIST NEE) is conducted for admission to Certificate, Diploma and Degree Programs. Three different examinations known as NEE-I, NEE-II and NEE-III, to the Engineering & Technology branches of Technology stream (Base Module, Diploma Module & Degree Module); and Degree Module in Forestry stream through NEE-II only.

Date of Entrance Exam for NERIST:

NEE-II & NEE – III : April
NEE-I : May

The NERIST entrance examination is conducted at various centers located in the eight North Eastern States of India viz., Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim & Tripura. The selection of students is done in order of merit under various reservation categories.

Advertisement for NEE shall come out in the 3rd week of December and Application Form shall be available from 1st week of January.

The Entrance Examination shall be conducted for admission at three levels viz.,

1. NEE – I for Base Module (Certificate Course) (Technology stream) (for Class X candidates

2. (a) NEE –II for Diploma in Engg. & Technology (Technology stream) (for 10+2 candidates with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM))
(b) NEE- II for B.Sc. Degree in Forestry (Forestry stream) (for 10+2 candidates with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB))
(c) NEE – II (Voc) for Diploma in Engg. & Technology (Technology stream) (for 10+2 vocational/ITI/NERIST certificate holders in the branches AE, CE, ECE, EE & ME).
(d) NEE-II (Voc) for B.Sc. degree in Forestry (Forestry stream) (for 10+2 vocational in Forestry & NERIST certificate holders in Forestry.

Detailed eligibility, syllabus and other information about NEE shall be available in the Information Brochure which can be obtained from Axis Bank/ Directorate of technical education of the North Eastern States.

Applications on prescribed OMR form are invited from eligible class 10th, 10+2 PCM / PCB / Vocational; ITI & Diploma (Engg.) passed/appearing candidates for admission to Base (Certificate), Diploma and Degree modules in Technology stream, and B.Sc. in Forestry Stream. Information Brochure(IB)-cum-OMR Application Form, NEE for admission through NEE–I, NEE–II and NEE-III can be obtained from Directorates of Higher Education of 8 North Eastern States and main branches of Axis Bank at Itanagar, Guwahati (Paltan bazar & Christian Basti), North Lakhimpur, Jorhat, Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, Nagaon, New Bongaigaon, Silchar, Karimganj, Shillong, Tura, Aizawl, Imphal, Kohima, Dimapur, Gangtok, Agartala, Dharmanagar, Siliguri, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Ranchi, Lucknow, New Delhi, Raipur, Chennai, Bangaluru, Mumbai and Pune @ `750/- for GE/OBC, and `400/- for ST/SC/PD

RESERVATION OF SEATS FOR ALL THE PROGRAMMES:

10% of the seats are for each of the eight North Eastern States under States’ quota, 7% of the seats are for PRC holders of these states on merit basis, 10% of the seats are for any of the States of India under All India quota; and the rest 3% of the seats are reserved for Physically Disabled (PD) candidates with 40-75% locomotion disability.
