The International English Language testing system is an international standardised test which is meant to evaluate the English ability of a candidate who wants to study or work in those countries where English is the common language. ILTES test is the mandatory test for taking admission in all universities of other countries. Over 2.5 million tests are taken each year. IELTS exam is jointly managed by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL), British Council and IDP: IELTS Australia. It is recognised by universities and employers in many countries, professional bodies, immigration authorities and other government agencies. IELTS test with the British Council are very popular. October, November, December, January, March, May and June.

The test can be taken at over 1000 test centre locations in more than 140 countries.This test can be taken on 48 fixed dates each year and up to four times a month, depending on local demand.

Pattern for IELTS Exam:

IELTS Exam can be taken from two types:

  • IELTS Academic – This test is for those candidates who are planning to study in higher education or seeking professional registration.
  • IELTS General Training – This test focuses on basic survival skills in broad and social workplace contexts.

IELTS contain 2 hours and 45 minutes. It consists of four parts- Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. The speaking test may even take place a day or two days later at some centres.

Syllabus for IELTS:

  • Listening – It consist of four sections, played on cassette tape, in order to increase difficulty. Each section might be a monologue or dialogue. While listening, the question of each section must be answered and time is given to students to check their answers. The test is played once only.
  • Reading – There are two types of reading test – Academic reading test or general training reading test. Both the sections are in order of increasing difficulty.
  • Writing –There are two types of IELTS writing test – Academic writing test or General training test. Candidates have to perform two writing tasks in which different styles of training is required. There is no choice of question topics.
  • Speaking – In this test, one to one interview is taken by a specially trained examiner. This interview is divided into three parts:
  • Introduction interview
  • An interview where the candidate speaks for one or two minutes on a given topic.
  • A two-way discussion

Way to Apply for IELTS Exam:

  • Online – There are three steps in online process:
  1. Enquiry
  2. Registration
  3. Confirmation

Scores for IELTS:

IELTS exam is a multi- level exam. Candidates have to score between 1 and 9 for each section. Those who score between 6 and 5 are also possible, but universities often demand score between 6 and 7. They may also demand a minimum score of the four sectionsThere are 48 fixed dates for IELTS test dates. An IELTS score is valid for two years. If the candidate is given the test more than once in two years, only then his or her recent score will be considered.

Results:

The report of the IELTS result of the candidate will be posted to him or her after 13 days of giving the examination. All test centres will post your test report form to you. Some centres provide SMS and online result service.

This course in East Kameng is offered under different specializations, To get admission to a particular specialization, applicants must have completed their higher secondary in 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 format, Both higher secondary/pre-university and degree must have been obtained from a recognized board and recognized university respectively.

If a phase I test taker of Sheohar oe other places is not satisfied his/her performance in the test or if a candidate has missed out to apply for NEET, he/she can apply for phase 2 exam, It is a second chance provided to aspiring candidates.
