EXAM PATTERN, SYLLABUS OF IBPS RRB 2017

The Pattern of IBPS RRB Preliminary Examination

  • The IBPS RRB Preliminary Examination will be conducted as online and the structure will be different for Office Assistant and Officer positions.
  • Candidates have to qualify in both tests by securing the minimum cut-off that will be decided by IBPS both these two positions. IBPS will shortlist an adequate number of candidates under each category based on requirements for the main examination for both positions.
  • Each of these positions will have two tests otherwise called as two sections and the format will be as follows for Office Assistant (Multipurpose)

The pattern of IBPS RRB Main Examination:

  • There will be 5 tests/sections in the main examination as per the table is given below. In addition, the candidates will be provided with the option to choose any of an or b in the 4th test/section. The pattern is different for different positions and so the pattern for different positions is given below:

  • Candidates are recommended to remember that penalty for wrong answers is applicable to all exams, regardless of whether it is preliminary, main or single level examination.
  • There will be a penalty for wrong answers in objective type questions.
  • There will be a deduction of 1/4th or 0.25 marks for every wrong answer given.
  • In case, candidates have left some questions unattempted, there will not be any penalty for those questions.
