Branches in Engineering

If you feel that you have all traits or skills which are required for engineering, then the question arise is which branch you would like to study in or which branch is right for you. There are various branches in engineering given below-

Aerospace Engineering

Aerospace engineering is the study of the design, development, and production of air and spacecraft.

Chemical Engineering

Chemical engineering is the study of chemical, physical, and biological sciences to the process of converting chemicals or into more useful or valuable forms.

Civil Engineering

Civil engineering is the study of construction, design and maintenance of the physical and natural built environments

Software Engineering

Software engineering comprise with development, design, implementation and maintenance of software

Electrical Engineering

Electrical engineering is the branch comprises the study and application of electricity, electromagnetism and electronics.

Marine Engineering

Marine Engineering is the study of the design and construction of seagoing vessels and structures.

Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineering comprises with the study of motion, energy and force.

Food Process Engineering:

It is the study of crop processing, food packaging, food preservation, etc.

Metallurgical Engineering:

Metallurgical Engineering is the study of the physical and chemical behaviour of metallic elements and their mixtures, i.e., alloys.

Electronics and Communication Engineering:

It is the study of design, development and testing of electronic equipment used in the communication system.

Textile Engineering:

It is the study of physical and chemical principles of engineering which are implemented for the production of textile fabrics.

Agricultural Engineering:

Agricultural Engineering is the engineering concerned with the construction, design and improvement of farming equipment and machinery.

Instrumentation Engineering:

Instrumentation engineering is the engineering that specialises on the principle and operation of measuring instruments.

Automobile Engineering:

Automobile Engineering deals with manufacturing, designing  and operating automobiles

Information Technology:

Information Technology (IT) is an engineering which concentrates on the study of utilising computers and telecommunications in order to control, gather, store and circulate information.

These all above branches are major in engineering.  If you have the passion for the particular branch, go ahead and take it regardless of what other people tell about their scope. But if you don’t have the strong interest for the particular branch you should choose basic stream. If you have the interest in drawing, you can choose Mechanical or Civil. If your logical skills are strong, you can choose electronics or electrical branch and so on. For finding the right branch, you can take counselling provided by us.

@Sanjay: If you have completed your 12th with Maths and Physics, you have a number of opportunities to start your career in CSE. There are a lot of institutions providing this course including IITs. For IIT and other government sector institutes are admitting students on the basis of your JEE rank. But you can also find some institutes which are giving opportunities to those students who could not score good in JEE (or could not appear). Universities like Amity, Lovely Professional University, SRM are admitting students who are scoring well in the universities' entrance tests. You can check in their websites for more information.
