Educational Qualification for Doctor:

Of course, as you know to become a medical doctor, you should complete your MBBS first. Then, you can go for the specialisation in which you are interested.

For instance, after your MBBS, you can go for MD or MS, which means doctoral or surgical specialisation. Even, you can go for DM or MCh courses. There are different specialisation like cardiology, gastroenterology, oncology and many others.

Eligibility Requirement and Admission Procedure:

To get admission to the MBBS course, you must complete your higher secondary in science stream. You should choose physics, chemistry and biology subjects in your higher secondary. Most institutions require that you should secure at least 60% of marks at the higher secondary level. In addition, admission is done on the basis of your performance in NEET UG examination.

NEET stands for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test. This test is conducted now as a single-window entrance test for admission to MBBS and BDS courses across India. Earlier, each state in the country had their own entrance tests for MBBS, but now NEET is conducted as a common test for the entire country.
