EXAM PATTERN, SYLLABUS OF CDS 2018

  • The pattern of CDS test differs for IMA, NA and FA from that of the test pattern for OTA.
  • Here is the table that shows the pattern of CDS test for candidates applying to IMA, NA and IFA positions:

  • There will be negative marking for wrong answers in the case of objective type questions
  • Each objective type question will have four options for the candidates to choose from.
  • The negative mark for every wrong answer is 0.33 or 1/3rd of the mark assigned to that specific question.
  • If a candidate has given more than a single option for any question, it will be considered wrong and there will be negative mark.
  • There will not be any deduction of mark for questions that were not attempted by a candidate.
  • The utmost marks allotted to the written test and to the SSB interview will be equal for each course.
  • The question paper will have questions in objective types only. In the case of question papers for English and General Knowledge, the question paper will have questions both in English and in Hindi.
  • The qualifying mark for the written test will be fixed by the commission.
  • The standard of the papers in Elementary Mathematics will be the matriculation level standard. For other papers, the standard will be approximately as such as may be expected of a graduate student from an Indian University.
