UPSC Mains 2018 application form is available on site from the 17th August 2018.
Last Date to fill the application form for UPSC CSM is 31st August 2018.
Candidate can submit their application on the official website. Each candidate will have to submit only a single application.
If a candidate has to submit more than one due to one reason or another, he/she is recommended to ensure that the application with higher registration ID or RID is complete in all respects.
All Candidates, regardless of whether they are offering their service to government-owned industrial undertakings, government service or other similar organizations or in private employment are recommended to submit their applications directly to the commission.
Candidates will have to complete the online application form that contains two stages as part I and part II
Before starting the application filling up process online, candidates are recommended to have their photograph and signature in digital format. This means that they should have the scanned copy of photograph and signature in jpg format. Here, they are recommended to make sure that the size of each file should not exceed 40 KB and must not be less than 3KB in the case of the photograph and 1 KB in the case of signature.
While filling up the application online, candidates are recommended to make sure that they provide a valid and active email ID. The UPSC might communicate them through email at the different stages of the examination process.
Also, applicants are recommended to check their email on a regular basis and they are also recommended to make sure that the emails from the commission do not reach any other folder like spam and trash other than the inbox.
Candidates are recommended to apply for UPSC CSE 2018 well in advance to avoid last minute server rush.
All applicants excepting PH/ST/SC/female candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs.100
The fee can be paid either by remitting the money in any branch of State Bank of India by cash or they can also make the payment with the help of net banking facility of SBI/State bank of Bikaner/State Bank of Hyderabad and other similar state banks.
The application fee can also be paid using debit/master credit/visa card.
Those planning to make the payment by cash are recommended to print the system-generated pay-in-slip in the second part of the registration process.
Then, they will have to deposit the fee at the counter of an SBI branch on the next working day.
However, candidates, who have generated their pay-in-slip before this date and time, can pay the cash on the SBI Branch counter during the working hours on the late date of online application.
The net banking payment mode will be open until the last date of applying for UPSC Civil Services Examination 2018.
For the applicants for whom the payment details have not been received from the bank will be treated as fictitious payment cases. The list of candidates falling under this category will be posted on the website of the commission within a couple of weeks after the last date of submission of online application. Also, these candidates will be intimated through Email to submit a copy of the proof of their payment to the commission to the address that they can find in the email sent from the commission.
The applicants identified as fictitious payment cases will have to submit the proof of fee payment within 10 days from the date on which they get the communication. They can submit the same either by hand or by speed post to the commission.
If the commission does not receive any response from an applicant, his/her application will be summarily rejected and the commission will not entertain any further correspondence from the applicant in this regard.
All female applicants and also applicants from SC/ST and PH categories are exempted from the payment of application fee of Rs.100.
However, there will not be any fee waiver for OBC men candidates. They should make the payment of a full fee.
Physically handicapped candidates are exempted from fee payment if they are otherwise eligible for appointment to the posts/services that are to be filled on the results of this examination based on the standards of medical fitness for these positions.
Physically disabled candidates claiming a waiver of fee or fee concession will have to submit their request along with detailed application form and a certified copy from a Government hospital or medical board in support of their claim for being physically disabled.
Applications received from candidates, who will have to pay a fee, but without fee payment will be summarily rejected.
The fee once paid cannot be claimed back and also the fee cannot be adjusted towards other examinations conducted by the commission.
If a candidate has appeared for UPSC CSE 2016 examination and awaiting results can apply for the 2018 examination without waiting for an offer letter
Candidates qualifying for the main examination will have to pay an additional fee of Rs.200.
