EXAM PATTERN, SYLLABUS OF CAT 2017

It must be necessary for the students to have knowledge about the CAT 2017 exam pattern that includes the number of questions appear in the examination like a number of sections,  areas from where question paper will be made, time duration, etc. , pattern is given below-

  • Exam Type: Computer-based test (CBT)(Online mode).
  • Time Duration: The time duration of the paper CAT 2017 exam will be of 180 minutes.
  • No. of Questions: total 100 Objective type questions.
  • Syllabus:  Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation, Quantitative ability, verbal ability & Reading Comprehension.
  • Marking Method: 3 marks for giving every correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be reduced for every wrong answer.
  • Time Duration per Section: Candidates will be allotted exactly 60 minutes for answering questions of each section.

CAT 2017 Syllabus:

Although there is no particular syllabus for CAT 2017 by IIMs, based on the past years’ pattern, we can estimate the CAT 2017 syllabus. Although IIMs mention that the level of the questions is related to that of Class VIII-Class X. However, the experts state that some of the questions are of Class XII to graduation level. The syllabus of CAT is mainly divided into 3 sections:

  • Quantitative Ability
  • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
