  • CDAC full form is Centre for Development of Advanced Computing.
  • It was established in 1988.
  • It is a scientific society of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India.
  • This society carries out Research and Development (R&D) in IT, electronics and associated areas.
  • Some of the research areas include high-performance computing, grid and cloud computing, professional electronics, multilingual computing, cybersecurity, software technologies, ubiquitous computing, etc.
  • Its focus is in building emerging/enabling technologies and innovating its expertise, calibre and skill set to develop IT products and solutions for diverse sectors.
  • C-DAC has set up the Advanced Computing Training School (ACTS) in 1993.
  • ACTS aims to meet the requirements for the skilled workforce for Information Communication Technologies (ICT) industry.
  • C-DAC has designed various postgraduate and undergraduate degree and diploma programs.
  • It also imparts ICT training to state and national governments, agencies, strategic sectors, corporate and industries, foreign countries and international students.
