IISER RESULT 2018, CUT OFF
The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research has branches in 7 major cities in India. IISER makes admission to the 5-year integrated BS-MS course through three different modes. The first is KVPY channel, the second is SCB, and the final pattern is JEE. Of these three, the second one or SCB is State or Central Board Channels.
Are all Candidates Meeting the Eligibility Requirements are Admitted to IISER?
No, admission to the IISER for each channel is by the merit and the total number of seats in SCB and KVPY Channels. As far as JEE Channel is concerned, rank 10,000 is the cut-off in each of the categories of applicants.
The SCB channel is where the IISER conducts its aptitude test to decide the eligibility of applicants for admission. This test is conducted at the end of June every year.
When are the Results Announced?
The results of IISER SCB channel test takers are published in the first week of July every year. After the allocation of results, the seat allotment begins from the very next day.
Will the Seat Allotment Happen in Different Rounds?
Yes, the first round allotment will have more than 1115 candidates. After the first round, there will be around 600 candidates, who qualify after the second round.
At the end of third round, around 450 candidates are shortlisted and are taken to the final round. At the final round, just 50 candidates are selected for admission from the candidates, who took the SCB channel for admission to IISER.
