  • It was informed that the applications for JAM 2018 should be submitted only through online.
  • To start the application process, candidates will have to first register themselves on JOAPS (ie. JAM Online Application Processing System) website by providing the name and email address and also a working mobile number along with a password. The link is given on the website http://jam.iitb.ac.in.
  • Candidates should provide an Email address that they use and check on a regular basis. The reason is that all communications to the candidates from the JAM 2018 will be sent only to the email address that he/she provides the registration process.
  • Similarly, the candidate should provide his/her personal mobile number as most of the communications might be sent through SMS as well.
  • Candidates are recommended to choose a password that cannot be guessed by others easily and this password should be remembered by the candidates at each and every stage of admission process.
  • Upon successful registration, an Email that contains the enrollment Id of the candidate will be sent to the Email address and also to the mobile number.
  • This enrollment ID should be used by the candidate along with the password for all JAM-related communications for 2018 and also for website access.
  • When a candidate logs in to the JOAPS website, he/she should fill out basic information like the name of the parent/guardian, mobile number, choice of cities for examination, DOB, the address for communication, gender, PWD status and category.
  • On the basis of the information provided by the candidate, his/her application fee will be determined.
  • Other details like the marks secured in the qualifying degree, details of valid personal ID and other details should also be filled.
  • Candidates are recommended to fill up the application on their own without using a third party for the same to avoid any mistakes.
  • In the application process, the applicants will have to upload the following documents:
    • High-quality image of the photograph of candidate
    • A good quality image of the signature of the candidate
    • A good quality scanned image of SC/ST/PWD candidates either in JPEG or PDF format
  • Once all details are filled and once the required documents are uploaded, candidates are recommended to review the application to ensure the correctness of details entered before submitting the application.
  • The submission should be made through JAM Online Application Processing System or JOAPS link JAM 2018 - Application Form.

Application fee:

  • The application fee to be paid by female candidates of all categories for one test paper is Rs.750 and for two test papers is Rs.1050.
  • The same fee as female candidates is applicable for male candidates from PWD/ST/SC candidates as well.
  • General and OBC category male candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs.1500 for one paper and Rs.2100 for two papers.
  • Application fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
  • The application fee should be paid only online. The payment can be made through net banking, debit or through credit cards till 10th October 2017.
  • Additional bank charges will have to be borne by candidates, which will differ based on their option they choose for making payment.
  • Once all details are entered and documents are uploaded, candidates can submit the application to proceed to the payment of application fee.
  • Before, making the payment, candidates will be shown the preview of their application to ensure that the filled in details are correct.
  • Once the tab ‘confirm and final submit’ is clicked, there will not be any chances for further changes in the application form. Then, the candidate will be directed to the payment portal.
  • On the fee payment portal, the fee amount and the appropriate bank charges will be shown and the candidate will have to confirm that the payment is for JAM 2018.
  • Once the payment is successful, the candidate will be redirected back to the JAM online application website, where he/she can see a fee payment number, which will be unique and must be saved for future use.
  • If a candidate is not sure whether the payment is made or not due to some internet connection issues in the process, he/she can check the status of payment by login back to JOAPS.
  • If he/she finds that the fee pending/not paid as status, then, he/she should initiate a fresh online payment through JOAPS fee payment website. Otherwise, the application will be rejected due to non-payment of application fee.
