NEET-PG 2019 is an eligibility-cum-ranking test that is prescribed as the single-window entrance test for various PG degree and diploma courses in medicine. This test is conducted according to the section (10) of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956.
Apart from this entrance examination, no other PG medical entrance test score will be valid either at the college level or at the state or at the national level. The score of this test shall be valid for admission to the MD/MS and PG diploma courses in Medicine with effect from the year 2019.
The scope of this score is that at all India level nearly 50% of quota seats for PG medical courses will be filled with this score. The score will not be applicable in Telangana, Jammu & Kashmir, and Andhra Pradesh
This score will be considered for admission to PG courses in all private medical institutions, universities and also deemed universities across India.
This score will be taken for admission to PG courses at the Armed Forces Medical Service Institutions as well.
However, the following institutions are not covered for centralized admission through NEET-PG for the academic session 2019:
Sree Chithirai Thirunal Institute of Medical Sciences & Technology, Trivandrum
AIIMS, New Delhi.
Recently Central government have announced that 100% PG seat of all private medical colleges will be filled through state common counselling only. Presently 50% of PG seat is filled by state common counselling and rest 50% is filled with college management.
