NID 2017: EXAM DATE, RESULT, ELIGIBILITY, APPLICATION FORM

  • NID stands for National Institute of Design and the entrance test conducted by this institution is called as DAT or Design Aptitude Test.

  • The institute is also an autonomous institution under the Department of the Industrial Policy & Promotion of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry of Government of India.
  • The institute is empowered with the authority to confer its own Master of Design (M.des.) and Bachelor of Design degrees (B.des.).
  • The institute is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities.
  • Admission to all the design courses will be granted based on the two-stage competitive examination.
  • The objective of these tests is to assess the behavioural abilities, skills, and knowledge of the applicants.
  • The first stage of the two-stage competitive examination is called as Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims. The second stage is called as DAT Mains.
  • Candidates qualifying in the first or prelims stage will be invited to appear on the second stage of the DAT Test at any one of the NID campuses at Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar or Bengaluru.
  • NID offers M. Design, B. Design and GDPD courses through its different branches. As far as the M. Design course is concerned, it is offered as a two-and-half-year long course at the Gandhinagar, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad campuses of the institution. For this course, students can apply to any of the following disciplines:
