NID APPLICATION FORM, PROCEDURE 2018

The application process for NID DAT Prelims is divided as a Six-step process. Actually, it is a five-step process starting from Step 0 to step 5.

Step 0:  In this step candidates are recommended to make themselves familiar with the eligibility requirements, test centres, the number of seats, reservation policy and other appropriate information for admission to any of the three courses for which they are planning to apply. The admission handbook will have all these details.

Step 1: Register for NID DAT  

The first step is registration and signup. All candidates should register themselves online before starting to fill up the application form.

  • Here, candidates should provide a valid Email Id and also an active mobile number.
  • These contacts might be used for all future communications and so candidates are recommended to check the validity of the phone number of email before providing them.
  • Once registered, candidates will get an email to their registered email address. They are recommended to check other folders like junk or spam as well then and there for emails from the institution.
  • If a candidate has provided wrong email and/or phone number, he/she is recommended to register again with correct details.
  • They can log into their account with the help of the email Id and the DOB that they provide at the registration process.
  • Candidates are recommended not to delete any email they receive from the institute as it can be helpful for future reference.

Step 2: Fill NID 2018 Application Form

In this step, candidates will have to log in and should proceed to this step from the previous step. They should fill up the required details in this step.

  • Candidates applying for GDPD and B. Des courses are recommended to remember that the choice of preference of programme or campus does not guarantee a seat.
  • The allotment of campus will surely be done on merit basis.
  • Candidates are recommended to save and exit if they cannot fill out the form in a single sitting.
  • To go to the next step, all details should be filled and save and proceed option should be clicked.

Step 3: Select NID Course

If the candidate is applying undergraduate programme, please make a choice of the following exams:

  • only BDes 
  • only GDPD
  • both BDes and GDPD.

This choice can not be altered after the payment procedure.

If the candidate is applying for the M.Des exam, please elect M.des in the application form.

Step 4: Uploading of the scanned photograph and Signature

  • Candidates are recommended to ensure that all photographs must be in JPG format.
  • The size of the file containing photograph should not be more than 100 KB.
  • The photograph should be coloured photograph and should have been taken in a professional photo studio.
  • Self-composed photos and those taken from mobile phones will not be accepted.
  • Candidates will have to upload their scanned signature as well in the same format and size mentioned for the photograph.
  • The signature should be digitally photographed or should be scanned and should be cropped to arrive at the required size.
  • PWD and reserved category candidates should submit appropriate medical and community certificates respectively.
  • Once everything is uploaded, candidates should click save and proceed to move on to the next step of the application process.

Step 5: The final step in the application process includes payment of application fee and taking print out.

  • In the case of a candidate applying after the last date, they will have to pay the fee along with the late fee, which should be double the amount than what is mentioned above based on the category to which he/she belongs to.
  • Application fee once paid cannot be refunded or transferred
  • Candidates will have to bear the appropriate transaction fee charged by the bank when they pay the application fee using debit or credit card.
  • The different modes of payment available are credit/debit card for those, who wish to pay online, and demand draft for those, who choose to pay the fee offline.
  • The Demand Draft in the case of offline fee payment should be drawn in favour of All India Management Association, payable at New Delhi.
  • To complete the entire application process, candidates will have to send the demand draft and also a printout of the application form in a single envelope to the address given below. Candidates, who choose to pay online, need not have to send their application printout to the following address:
    • The Project Manager – CMS, All India Management Association, Management House, 14, Institutional Area, Lodhi Road, New Delhi – 110 003. India
  • NID has authorized the All India Management Association, New Delhi to process all the applications.
