  • The eligibility requirement to be fulfilled by candidates to apply for TANCET 2017 differs from one course to another.
  • Candidates are recommended to check the eligibility requirement as given below depending on the course to which they wish to apply.
  • MBA – Applicants must have completed a recognized UG course with at least three-year duration. They must have obtained a minimum of 50% in the degree course. Applicants from reserved category must have secured at least 45% of marks in the qualifying degree. The degree can be obtained either in 10+2+3 format or 10+3 years diploma plus 3 years pattern or B. Pharm/B. Arch/B. Tech or B.E. Otherwise, candidates can be 10+2+AMIE or 10+3 years diploma as awarded by the State Board of Technical Education along with AMIE.
  • MCA:  For candidates, who wish to apply to MCA course, they can take up TANCET 2017 only if they have passed in a recognized UG degree with minimum three years duration. They must have studied mathematics as a subject at the 10+2 or at the graduation level. They must have obtained at least 50%, which is 45% for reserved category candidates in the graduation course.  They must have completed their graduation either in 10+2+3 or 4 years format, 10+3 years diploma plus three-year degree pattern, 10+2+AMIE or 10+3 years diploma as awarded by the State board of technical education plus AMIE.
  • In the case of AMIE, candidates with section A and B certificates and other similar certifications of professional bodies like Aeronautical Society of India as recognized by the MHRD of Government of India. They must have enrolled before the 31st of May 2013 and this qualification will be considered equivalent to B.E/B. Tech degree holders.  They must have completed this course with a two-year regular full-time experience in appropriate field after course completion inclusive of project work. These candidates should produce certificate of proof of experience.
  • MCA Lateral entry:  To apply for this course, the applicants must have completed a recognized UG degree of at least three-year duration. The degree must be B. Sc Computer science/information technology or BCA with mathematics either in these degree courses or at 10+2 level. The minimum percentage of mark required in these degree courses is 50%, which is 45% in the case of reserved category candidates. The pattern should be 10+2+3.
  • M.E/M. Tech/M. Arch/M. Plan: A pass in a UG degree or its equivalent from a recognized university/institution in the appropriate field. The candidate must have obtained at least 50% (45% in the case of reserved category candidates) in the qualifying degree course. The degrees required on B.E/B. Tech/B. Arch or B. Pharm. Otherwise, candidates with PG in relevant branches of science/arts are also eligible. The qualification must be in the format of 10+2+AMIE or 10+3 years diploma awarded by the state board of technical education plus AMIE.
  • Candidates admitted through lateral entry in degree courses are not eligible to apply except for B.E/B. Tech and MCA degree courses.
  • Candidates with B.E/B. Tech degrees obtained through weekend or distance mode are not eligible to apply.
  • Also, candidates, who have got their degree without studying 10th, 12th standard or three years degree courses are not eligible to apply.
  • Those appearing for the final semester or year of the qualifying degree course except those offered by professional institutions like AMIE during May/April 2017 are also eligible to apply for TANCET 2017.
  • Acceptance of an applicant as a candidate to write the entrance test does not confer on the person, the right to equivalent eligibility for admission to a course entirely rests with the admitting authority that offers the course.
