To apply for Tripura JEE, the applicants must be Indian citizens and they should be permanent residents of the state of Tripura.
The applicant or his/her parents must have been residing in the state continuously for at least 10 years immediately before submission of application.
Also, the applicant must have passed or appeared or due to appear for the Higher Secondary Examination of the Tripura Board of Secondary Education or Central Board of Secondary Education or equivalent board with subjects that he/she desires to appear at the Tripura JEE.
Children of All India Service officers born in Manipur-Tripura Cadre and also children of the employees of state government posted outside Tripura are eligible to apply for the examination regardless of their prior stay in the state.
If a candidate is not a permanent resident of Tripura, but his/her parent is an officer on deputation to the Government of Tripura or Officer of the central Government working in Tripura and has served in the state continuously for three years or more are also eligible to apply to Tripura JEE, if they have passed or going to appear for higher secondary examination from an institution in Tripura.
In the case of wards of Ex-Servicemen, either the candidate or his/her parents must have been staying in Tripura continuously for not less than 5 years just before applying to Tripura JEE. Also, the candidate must have or should be appearing for the higher secondary examination in the year of the state JEE from a legally recognized institution in the country.
