# EXAM PATTERN, SYLLABUS OF TS ICET 2018

• The test is designed with a view to measure the ability of a candidate on systematic thinking.
• Also, the test will judge the ability of the test takers in using their verbal and mathematical abilities.
• It will have questions to assess the aptitude of the test taker for admission to the MCA/MBA course.
• As the important focus of the test is accuracy, the test takers are recommended to go through the instructions before starting the test.
• The test will be objective type format and there will be multiple choices for each question.
• Out of the given options, the test takers will have to choose the appropriate option.
• If a candidate has given more than a single answer for a specific question, such answers will be ignored during evaluation.
• The test duration is two hours and 30 minutes or 150 minutes in total
• There will be 200 questions in total and the questions are classified under the following topics:

• The distribution of the number of questions for each of these sections based on their syllabus will be as follows:

## Syllabus for TSICET 2018:

• Data Sufficiency:  For this section, the question will be in the format that a data will be given followed by a question. The data will be in the format of a couple of statements that are labeled as i and ii. In case, a candidate finds that to find the answer the data given in i is sufficient, then choice 1 is the correct answer. If the data given in ii is enough, then the correct answer is choice 2. In case, the correct answer to the question can be arrived at using both i and ii as input, then choice 3 is the correct answer. In case, both data are not sufficient to answer the question and when additional data is required, then choice 4 is the correct answer.
• The 55 marks for the problem solving section will be divided as follows:
• Sequences and series – 25 questions and 25 marks
• Data Analysis – 10 marks
• Coding and decoding problems – 10 marks
• Date, Time and arrangement problems – 10 marks
• Mathematical ability section will have 75 questions, which will be divided as follows:
• Arithmetic ability – 35 questions
• Algebraical and Geometrical Ability – 30 Questions
• Statistical ability – 10 Questions
• Communication ability: The objective of this test is to assess the ability of the candidates in the following areas:
• To identify vocabulary used for day-to-day communication
• To understand the functional use of grammar on a daily basis for communication and also for business contexts
• To identify the fundamental terminology and concepts in computer and also in business contexts like minutes, agenda, memorandum, reports, letters, etc.
• To understand the written text and drawing interfaces of test takers.
