EXAM PATTERN, SYLLABUS OF TOEFL 2018

TOEFL exam is available in two formats:

  • TOEFL iBT ( i.e. Internet Based test)
  • TOEFL PBT (i.e. Paper Based test)

A few exam centers where testing via internet is not possible, there TOEFL PBT is conducted, while rest of the centers have TOEFL iBT.

  • There are four sections in the TOEFL test pattern, i.e. listening, reading, speaking and writing.
  • The exam takes four and a half hours to complete.
  • Marks is first calculated individually for each section and then added up to give total TOEFL score.
    • Reading section: - score of 0 to 30
    • listening section: - score of 0 to 30
    • Speaking section: - score of 0 to 30
    • Writing section: - score of 0 to 30
    • Total TOEFL score: - 0 to 120

Number of attempts:

  • As such there is no limit to the number of times a person can take the test.
  • The candidate but can’t take the test again within 12-day period.
