CS Syllabus:

ICSI recently released a new syllabus for CS course and according to the new syllabus of CS introduced with effect from the 1st of April 2017 there are 4 papers in the CS foundation programme, 7 in CS Executive Programme and 8 papers in the CS professional programme.

In addition, the executive programme and professional programme has two modules each. The first module of Executive programme has 4 papers, while the second module has 3 papers. For Professional programme, the number of papers in the 1st module is 4 and the same number is applicable for 2nd module as well.

CS Foundation Syllabus:

CS Executive Syllabus:

According to the new company secretary course syllabus, there are 7 papers as mentioned under the CS Executive Subjects section. The above –mentioned subjects in the CS Executive Programme comprise of different parts and they are listed below:

  • Paper 1 – Company Law (100 Marks)
  • Paper 2 - Cost and Management Accounting (100 Marks)
  • Paper 3 – Economic and Commercial Laws (100 Marks)
    • Part A – 70 Marks
    • Part B  - 30 Marks
  • Paper 4 – Tax laws and practice (100 Marks)
  • Paper 5 - Company Accounts and Auditing Practices (100 Marks)
  • Paper 6 – Capital Markets and Securities Laws (100 Marks)
  • Paper 7 – Industrial, Labour and General Laws (100 Marks)

CS Professional Syllabus:

There are totally 9 papers in the CS Professional programme. Of these 9, the 9th paper is an elective paper, where the candidates are provided with the option to choose their favourite among the 5 different options provided by the ICSI.
